5 o clock this morning – second attempt at joining the 5am club (why, Robin Sharma, why??!). Although, according to club rules, you’re meant to do exercise as soon as you get up, my dog thinks we need to patrol the street first. Apparently, you can’t work out at 5am without having checked outside for evidence of foxes.
Once she’s satisfied that the street is indeed fox free, I’m free to get my ‘hip hop/tabata’ groove on. I’m pretty sure that I spend the entire 30 minutes resembling a distressed octopus but according to the Amazonian instructor on Youtube, now my “legs are fierce!”
I decide to agree.
Because even though my legs may be less fierce than her enthusiasm suggests, I like her supercharged energy.
And I realise that it doesn’t matter if your legs don’t have quite the same ferocity that some squat masters have or if you fall over every time you try to do eagle pose in yoga. Whether it’s your abs or your ability to pick up every grain of rice on your plate with chopsticks, there’s definitely something fierce about you.
